Re: Need to cut metal

Got her project finished. And it is winter and no flowers to sell. But she is happy and I think impressed that I did her trailer before my smoker. But I needed something to learn on :ymsmug:

Re: First Build MACK.....

Thanks for the thread and pics. I have a Mack in my sights and want a patio style instead of a trailer so I was glad to see your build.

Re: Need to cut metal

Thanks for all the replies. Yes, I have plenty of grinders, an ancient Craftsman 7", a Makita 4.5" corded, a Makita 4.5" cordless that eats batteries and new Makita 4.5" variable speed we use for granite/quartz work. I hear ya on the multiple grinders, will remember that. I will see how far I get wi...

Need to cut metal

Ok, slowly getting set up for metal. My day job is owning/operating a cabinet shop so I have all the wood equipment I need - table saws, shapers, 4x8 CNC... CNC no good on metal :ymsigh: Unless it aluminum... Have a new Lincoln 180 MIG/Flux core machine but now need a torch. Some have suggested a pl...

Re: Lincoln 180 mig

I am considering this same welder. I see @Dirtytires recommends the gas over flux wire. School me a bit on flux wire cons. I have heard little uglier welds, but may work better on dirty or rusty materials? Only experience I have is with crackerbox stick welders, and that was years ago.

Re: Mack™

Thanks, guys. I thought it should work, wanted to make sure. I have a 5x10 mower/4 wheeler trailer that tilts. Thinking I can mount a boat winch or even a 12volt model on the front of trailer to pull it on if I need to transport.

Re: Mack™

Wanting to build one, have a friend with a CNC plasma who will sell me the metal and cut it, (my 4x8 wood cutting CNC sadly won't cut it) and a welding shop next door. Hoping I can weld a bit also on it, maybe on the bottom where it won't show. My question today is: has anyone build the Mack as a pa...

New from Mississippi Delta

Family and employees bought me a BGE almost 10 years ago for Christmas (they say they bought it, but they came up short on the $ and charged about 300 bucks to my card). Been mostly grilling on it until a couple years ago and I caught the smoking bug. Now I gotta have a stick burner for pork, chicke...
