Things went well, it fired right up and I took it up to 270 just to see and backed it down to 240 and I settled right in.now it’s time to scrape and sand frame and paint, sand blast fenders and paint . Then on to the shelf and d...

Was able to get some trailer work in tonight. New support angle for suspension hangers, new wheel bearings, and a tube steel support to weld the firebox too.

Well all the welding is done, now time for some pretty bits! And on to working on the trailer.
Also pulled the hubs off the trailer to replace the bearings and races.
Added a piece of tube steel to hold the fire box to the trailer.

Re: 1st smoker build

Sorry it’s been a while! My welder has been working a lot of overtime. I’ve been busy collecting parts and pieces. We tweaked the doors and worked on the fire box door, let me know what you think? I’ve ground all the paint off the fire box as well. Made new rails for the trailer with all new mountin...

Re: 1st smoker build

The parts are laser cut, I have a friend that works at a place that does it. I draw them on cad and he will cut them for me. It’s a great deal for me. He made me a sign for the top of the smoker , butt that will be in a later post. We were talking about the thermometer!

Re: 1st smoker build

Dirtytires, I get your point. I would have to recalibrate to read true. I understand that I need to work with temps under 250.
Thank you for the input.
On a separate note my stack baffle parts showed up tonight.

And a true smoker gauge. It's fun to see some of the useless dials that go to 550 and people that want to get that high on a smoker. If your gauge pegs-out, you are too hot!!

I love it!
One of my friends gave it to me, it’s set 90 degrees low so it’s perfect !

1st smoked meatloaf

Wife asked what I was smoking for dinner? I said I don’t know, how about a meatloaf!
I will make some changes but for the first one it turned out pretty good.
