I was able to shear the expanded metal for the racks, should be able to weld them up on Monday !

I was able to cut and mitre all the rack material tonight. Still moving closer towards the end.

I'm going to use food grade mineral oil to seal it. I will be good with the patina that will come with age and drippings. Just going to add character.

I will look into the brace, I've never run a smoker like this before.
I've never even seen on in person, just taking a leap of faith! LOL
I'm sure I will have a BIG learning curve ahead.

Not a great night, but we were able to cut the BP. A lot of welding to do this week. I will post pics as we start.

I think I’m going to make an adjustable one, fix the dam at 100% and make a slide to close down to 50%. I will see how it goes. I should get working on this some time this week. Thank you for all the responses

Got a little more work done tonight, smoothing all the cuts from the plasma cutter. Getting ready for the BP installation can someone tell me how much space to leave at the bell end? Also thinking about using part of the rings to make a wood rack. What do you think?

Yes I picked up an old 2 axle boat trailer we are going to mount it to. Needed to get it put together to see what mods need done to the trailer.

A little more progress tonight, cut the firebox door air intakes and throat!
A little test fitting and may get to weld it up this week!

Quick question, if I use diamond plate for the BP what side should I put down? I may not be able to dig up a smooth sheet.
