Re: 1st smoker build

It’s kind of a build design, appreciate the suggestions. If you leave the metal raw how do you protect it?
You make have solved my door stop problem, I save the part of the ring I cut for the fire box, I can give the ring back to the tank.

Re: 1st smoker build

Thanks, when you say leave the ends, do you mean leave the rings on them? I think the color difference is from leaving them in my truck stacked on top of each other and it snowed!

REVISED FIRE BOX LOCATION.jpg
Is this a better design/location? How large should the shadow plate be?
I lowered the top of FB to be 2" lower then BP.

Good morning,
I'm looking to start a build. Please see attached drawing, looking for suggestions and comments as to FB size and BP location. I think i used the calculator correctly for all the sizes.

Thanks

Re: Couple of quick questions

This is the tank I was able to get my hands on and a sketch of what I'm thinking of doing with it. Do we see any major problems with the size or design. I tried going thru the calculator and worked things out for the tank part, But I want to be able to use the WC as part of the smoker as well. Not s...

Couple of quick questions

I have the plans for the Legacy 4800 smoker.
1. Can you put a baffle between the CC and the WC and smoke thru both at the same time?
2. If I have access to a 30" dia. propane tank can I just scale the drawings up and everything will work?

Thanks

Re: New from NE Ohio

Thanks Big T, those are all great questions, I don’t mind tending a fire, not a lot of good cooking wood in the area, on average when the family is home it’s a total of 9 people and I would like to move it on occasion.
