Re: Which burner is best for a discada?

Our oldest son bought a burner this summer, it wasn't an alpha but looked just like it. Itl puts out way more heat than you will ever need, and holds a disk very well. I have found some that look just like the alpha on ebay under $30. Type in propane burners.

Re: How I make a hoop

No I don't try to get the same radius. For one the tank I'm using to shape around is smaller around than the disk. I didn't make this one round enough and had to bend it a little more on the very end. Next time I will just continue on past the starting point. It's easy enough to open or close thr ra...

How I make a hoop

This is the way I form a hoop for the rim of a disco or as I call them plow cookers. It works great and the cost in machinery is very little.

At least you live on the dry side and not on that god forsaken W. side. I've spent more time that I want working in the rain over there. I live in Lakeview, OR. Good to see some folks on here from the west.

Re: How to Install Chamber doors and hinges

I have used quite a few different brand and found some better than others. They all work, but they all have a problem. And thats throwing particles also pieces of the blade can fly off. So do put on a coat or long sleeve shirt, gloves and a face shield for your own protection. :rulz: :BDHorse:

Re: my first disco :)

That's a good price, I just bought one this week and payed $23 plus shipping of about $12. It is 18 in. I'll tell you a new one is a lot easer to clean that an old rusty one like the first one I built.

Re: Here we go

Earler in this thread cut off disk were being talked about. I was a working out of Hastings, NE on a coal fired power plant. The prime contractor called a saftey meeting and set rules on the use of cut offs. They brought up a case of a fellow using one to do a little polishing and it broke apart and...

Re: a few of my disco cooks

This is a picture of 8 pork steaks being cooked on my plow cooker. It is big enough (19 in) to get all of them on at once and had room left over, and did a great job. Like Killswitch says you can cook anything on them, and so far he is right. I'm going to hate it when the oldest son leaves to go bac...

Re: a few of my disco cooks

Well I can tell you fellers you are going to like cooking on your plow disk when you get it done. I had see them on another web site and got a disk and went at it. I will say get a new one if at all posiable. I probably have 5, 6 hrs. of grinding and buffing on mine. I finished mine yesterday and wa...

That explains it, I had a step Dad that was a plummer and I could tell when he had been down in the sewers. He started taking short cuts also, must mess up the grey matter.

Re: pickup bumper

I had never built one or had any plan when we started, a lot of good guess. Someone asked my son how much he had in it and he told them 3 cans of paint. He was given 2 sheets of 10 ga. and the rest I had here.
