Re: Making cover shields last longer

Has anyone tried using pledge on their cover shields yet? This is not a bunch of BS it works, I looked it up and I bought this hood on 10/29/14 and I'm still on my 2nd cover shield. And that is using it all day long Mon. through Fri.

Also keep the disk at a 90' angle to the metal. When it not at 90' it causes it to ware out faster.

Re: Eye damages and cheap hoods

You have to look at the arc to see your puddle to make a good weld. If your having trouble staying on where you want your weld and old trick is to use soapstone and mark a line. Another is to put more light on the area. A 250 halogen works great, I was doing a weld test one time and having trouble s...

Re: Eye damages and cheap hoods

I know auto hoods are expensive and there are some inexpensive ones out there but you are only issued one set of eye balls , Protect them!!! You don't have to but the high dollar one but look into a good brand.

Re: Making cover shields last longer

Some may doubt what I said but I did buy the hood Nov. if not earlier and still on the 2nd cover shield. We build hydraulic squeeze chutes for working cattle. If you want to see them in operation go to salt creek industries and look at the videos. I don't work on then but they also put out a sharpen...

Making cover shields last longer

I'm currently working in a fab shop welding and I'm pretty much welding all day. Welding with the mig I use to go through a outside cover shield in about a week. Last year about the first of Nov or maybe a little earlier I bought a speed glass 9100. With the new style cover shields they charge a lot...

Re: Is the Constitution "vague"?

Now comes that back ground check for the pressure cooker so you can can all the fruit and veggieg that you will grow this summer! And you will only be allowed to have so many cups, you know some one with to many cups can hurt someone. NY and CO will only allow you to have 7 cups to the pot! Probably!

That sucks having to wait like that, but I'm sure you will be happy with the 211. One thing I have noticed mine is easy on consumables.

Re: Hobart 210MPV MIG Welder Opinions

A welder you may look into is the Miller 211, I have one and very happy with it. I recomended it to a few people and everyone that has bought one is as impressed as I'am. It will weld 110 or 220 and all you need to do is change the end on the plug and weld. But it will run you a little more money. B...

Re: 250 gallon trial and error

Question are you going to have more than 1 grate? Also are you going to put something on the rail to keep the grate from falling out? On the one I built I have a short piece of angle iron welded on the last 6-8in and it works great.

Re: Tee shirts WITH POCKETS!!!

Hay Dcman looks like we got the big daddy Frank looking into a real tee shirt with pockets. Here is a little insite to how hot the fire got. It was 22 mi away and the wife and I were on the patio and watched a burnt pine needle come floating down. When she picked it up it more or less turned to dust.
