Re: First dp Gravity feed build

I use the flameboss 500/. The GF's do not need a ton of CFM to get up to and keep temp. At 100% fan speed, it puts out 21 cfm max, but it only goes that high until it hits temp, then backs off to 15-20% or less. I close the top damper down at least 75% closed to keep the heat after I hit temp. Once...

Re: First dp Gravity feed build

Hey everybody, another question this time re: pit controllers. I seem to have narrowed it down to either heatermeater, aubergine 3615 or signal/billows. At first I thought the heatermeater would be cheaper but given the price of components etc currently, it'll work out about the same as the other tw...

Re: Mini GF PID/fan idea

Ideally, you are going to want some "throttle" control over the fan. Me, I already had a HeaterMeter (fan and damper control) when I built my double pan GF, it's based on an rPi. There's really no need for a full PC, IMO. What CFM fan did you use with your heatermeater for the dp gravity fed? Thanks

Re: First dp Gravity feed build

I used the stuff from Amazon. It works fine, and it looks like in your case it is half price. Mine has been on my GF for almost 2 years and does not leak any smoke. They will need to add an !/8 spacer in the door when they weld the hinges on that way the 1/4" gasket will compress and seal. I usuall...

First dp Gravity feed build

Hi everybody, Joined here and bought the plans just before Christmas but life (and many celebrations so at least a nice delay!) has been getting in the way. Was originally intending to build by myself but it turned out my father in law is very good friends with someone with access to a CNC machine, ...

Excellent work. You know it's a good job when other people (well me at least!) are struggling for superlatives to describe your work.

Beautiful!

Re: Second double pan in da make....

All 35 bending files ar complete now, ready for the laser cutting table and cnc brake press. Thought I was doing things pretty well in th first build but still experienced to much sheet warp because long welding seems....So in the second design I tried to minimize long welds. Every sheet has small ...

Re: Hi all from the UK

Welcome! Have only recently joined myself and am also building the double pan gravity fed cabinet. Well, I say building but so far I've purchased the plans and have mostly been trawling the existing build threads and trying to get a list of QoL improvements people have made so I can learn from other...

Re: Greetings from Greece!

Welcome Deano! Been to Greece a few times, love it there. Cheers, it's a lovely part of the world. Now that I actually live here, I'm looking forward to doing a lot of exploring. Whenever I came previously I'd always have to visit the inlaws which meant a very small exploration area. Although one y...

Living above a metal shop would be bad for me.....and expensive! What a great opportunity tho....good luck on the build.
Have just found out that my father in law has a friend who works in the local factory and should be able to do most of the cutting and help with the welding too. Happy days!

Re: Greetings from Greece!

Thanks for the welcome. Ordered the double pan gravity feed plans earlier today, have the pdf just waiting for the CNC files to come before I can get a materials list together and convert everything to metric

Greetings from Greece!

Hi everybody. I'm deano and although originally from London, I'm now living in Greece after life threw me and mine a few curveballs but we were fortunate enough to make the best of them. Have only been smoking for two years ish, starting on a cos before moving onto a ProQ bullet smoker and a kamado....

Re: Planning to build a gravity feed

Hi, have only just joined the forum but thought I'd say how great this is. I'm going to be building a gf after Christmas, this thread has been a good inspiration! Luckily I love just above a metal shop in Greece so should be able to get cracking as soon as I've purchased the plans. Great work once a...
