Re: First time build..firebox to insulate or not to insulate

Safety was the biggest driver in my decision to fully insulate my firebox. I can touch mine hours onto a smoke and not end up with third degree burns. I can't tell you how many times friends and kits have bumped into it soI feel it's worth it. As far as fuel goes, my fires are always small and typi...

Re: First time build..firebox to insulate or not to insulate

I forgot to mention, I'm building my smoker off a 60 gallon air compressor that is also a .25 thick. Appreciate all the replies so far.

First time build..firebox to insulate or not to insulate

Re: Hello from Upland CA

I've become a huge fan of ceramic grit flap wheels the last few years. Almost never use my grinding wheel anymore and don't even own a usable wire wheel. Key to have they wear away at the same rate the abrasive gets dull so you always have new cutting material. Cubitron 2 makes an awesome product a...

Hello from Upland CA

Hello everyone, my name is Miguel and I am new to this forum and new to smoker building. I recently purchased a used air compressor in the hopes of making a smoker. I bought the plans for a 24x48 offset and dipping my toes into it. A question I have is my tank is slightly smaller than 24x48 (actuall...
