Re: First welding machine

"I know several people who use Eastwood welders and plasma cutters. They love them!!" I also bought the 60 amp plasma cutter as part of the "heavy metal fabrication" package that was on sale this spring. (still is) http://www.eastwood.com/versa-cut-60-and-mig175-combo-kit.html I have not yet used th...

Re: First welding machine

I bought the 220v 175 amp from these guys http://www.eastwood.com/welders/mig-welders.html IMG-20130806-00105small.jpg I like it better than the $1800 miller that we have at the race shop. I was out of money to get a tank of gas so I used the flux core an it welded great very smooth and helped with ...

Have been drawing up the patio model based on my catering rig for my buddy who cooks with me. But we landed another cook so we have not had time to start cutting and welding yet. Here was the roast this week end. IMG_00000058small.jpg All done S__D1E1 small(3).jpg 200 lb pig for a fund raiser. Split...

I have a tank and I know how to use it.

My fishing and Hunting buddy found an old 60 gal compressor tank in his parents farm shop. Compressor is locked up but tank seemed ok.

Looks like we will have a mid sized party model soon.

The first smoker I ever had.

The first smoker I ever had was a little cheap used webber kettle charcoal job. Worked ok for what it was but never ran great no matter what I tinkered with. Rusted out after 2 years sitting on the back deck. Got a Masterbuilt 30" electric next and still use it on hunting and fishing trips. This was...

I am already designing a patio model for a friend and a smaller insulated gravity feed one for my self. If you need advice these guys are great. Use the calculator for su...

Re: Brisket Cooking Poll

Fat cap up let the fat run thru and around to keep it moist. Since I cook it indirect and low 225 to 250 I need not worry about "burning" it. If it was direct heat fat cap down for protection and pushing the fat "up" thru.

I just got this one from Eastwood. It is a 220 volt welds to 5/16 with flux core wire has provisions for shielding gas and comes with everything you need. I had not ever welded with flux core until this weekend. I like it and I like this welder better than the 1800 $$ MILLER we use at the race shop....

Re: too much smoke?

If your getting "too much" smoke for some of the peeps your feeding. Why not try some good lump charcoal and just cut your wood your adding to just a split now and then or chunks of wood once in a while. That is what I have been doing for my rig and the smoke level has been great on everything from ...

Re: Starting a new build 250 gal Reverse Flow

I did most of my whole build with a 4 1/2" Milwaukee angle grinder and diablo wheels from home depot.

I will have a welder and plasma of my own in the near future though.

Re: Starting a new build 250 gal Reverse Flow

Came back from Vacation and cooked an other Pig this weekend. 87 pounder Split it in half and seasoned overnight. Figured the split would let me cut the cooking time, and I was with in 30minutes on the "new" cooking time. 6 and 1/2 hours over all. Let it rest for an hour before service.. IMG-2013070...
