Re: Need help with some calculations

Me and Rick's calculations differ I show you are 101.86% of what you need on firebox I generally go at least 105% I personally say you are good and can if you so choose can go a tad bigger. As far as throat opening here it is...... I show your opening to cook chamber should be..... 6.75" high by 25"...

Re: 1st Build out of 60 Gal Compressor Tank - be gentle

Clover ridge is spot on on every comment it is exactly why I would say.... Clover I quit putting my baffle on a slop to like you say the vast majority of the grease vaporize If you r make a lot of grease it is much easier to tilt trailr slightly and open drain for a minute

Re: 1st Build out of 60 Gal Compressor Tank - be gentle

You need 6" clearance for butts. I would lay it I out so I could have that for the 1st rack and the second will be what it is. I figure if you use a half moon of 4" high the horizontial will be 18.5it comes out to (44.73) and that is close enough. Come up 1.5" off the baffle plate put your angle iro...

Re: first 250 gal build...Need Help

You also need to consider grates, how much the trailer itself weighs, baffle plate if reverse flow the load range of tires weight is very deceptive it will sneak up on you. Your idea may work but.... You are riding a fine line

Re: first 250 gal build...Need Help

Brother I hate to dissappoint you but if you are using a 250 gallon tank you r going to be overweight for that trailer I have built many of them and I always use 3500# axels on them. You might get by with a 2000# axel but that is a mighty light built trailer for the load. I personally highly reccome...

Re: Planning my smoker build

To answer your question about your throat....This is spot on 8" by29.33 basically (30" across) this gives you (168.43) I guarantee it!!!!!!! Just my 2 cents worth. On reverse flow I go max 4" off baffle plate generally stick to 3" works for me!!!! On a cooker that size if you go one door you may hav...
