yes... actually if you mount rails inside the firebox even with the bottom of the door you can slide the basket out for adding wood to it. I m getting ready to make a charcoal basket for my 500 gal rf. I was thinking about putting some 4 inch legs on it so when the ashes fall through the coals can still get air on a long smoke. Does that sound like a good idea?
