Re: 500 gallon tank + 18 foot trailer = Flavortown

Here's one more question. Refrigeration? Anyone put a fridge on a rig? Where do I get an industrial one that can handle being in the elements?

I sort of figured that, but being new here, I wasn't sure.

Does someone have his email addy or can you nudge him to respond to my PM? We are looking to do this as soon as we get good plans.

Re: 500 gallon tank + 18 foot trailer = Flavortown

I You may want to contact Frank Cox by a PM he helps folks out with plans. One of the good things about that is he can do the math to set it up so you get the proper draft and when your done building the massive cooker it will really work correctly. Or email him at smokerplans.net As for the trailer...

500 gallon tank + 18 foot trailer = Flavortown

I finally have everything I need to make a big honkin' trailered rig. 500 gallon propane tank - Check 18 foot trailer - Check 200 gallon propane tank for fire box - Check Funds to have it done since I don't have the skill and the third member of GrillinFools.com who does, doesn't have the time - Che...

Re: 500 Gallon Smoker - Why not a firebox in the back, middl

Sorry, I started rehabbing pretty much my entire upstairs in November. Took out about four layers of floor, firmed up my very soft subfloor, laid down hard wood, moved a penninsula/island counter to the wall to open the kitchen up, yanked out the wall where my 18 cubic foot fridge was built in, rebu...

Re: 500 Gallon Smoker - Why not a firebox in the back, middl

Yeah, center feed sounds like what I want to do, and there will be a baffle between the firebox and the tank. A double walled metal box about 100 gallons or so. And yes, the exhaust or smoke stack is what I'm thinking, right around the top of the grill grates but off to each side, not from the top o...

500 Gallon Smoker - Why not a firebox in the back, middle

I was thinking of building the firebox in the back, bottom, middle rather than on one side or the other, with a vent pipe on each side. Any thoughts on this? This is my first build. I do not possess the skill to do it. But my cousin does and will be doing the work, so realize I'm a complete noob on ...
