Re: 21Gal Reverse Flow Patio Smoker

So while I was working on the smoker yesterday, my wife comes out to the shop and says "What do you have left to finish?" While I was explaining she said "I can use the grinder and wire thingy to get the old paint off, if that will help" Now I'm not sure what the consensus is but I'm thinking that s...

Re: 21Gal Reverse Flow Patio Smoker

DC I was thinking the same thing Gizmo it's 14Hx14Wx12L and that calculates out to 142.2% I had originally calculated 12Hx14Wx12L which is 121.9% The reason I dropped it the additional 2" is because I've added the ash pan. Should work out in the end but that's prob why it looks bigger than it should...

Re: 86 gal pressure tank build

When you cut the baffle plate to the right width it will rest in at the appropriate height no need to use standoffs.
As far as getting the length to fit, you'll probably save apt of headaches if you split it into 2 pieces across the width then butt then together.

Re: 21Gal Reverse Flow Patio Smoker

So the day wasn't as productive as I would've hoped, but I intentionally took my time to prevent as much heat build-up as possible from causing the door to spring. I got the door cut out and the FB to CC opening cut out, and I rinsed all the crud out of the tank. http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/...

21Gal Reverse Flow Patio Smoker

Hello again, now that I've finished up my 250 Reverse Flow Trailer, http://smokerbuilder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2092 With how successfull that build came out, I've been asked by a coworker if I could build him a smaller one. I just so happen to see this old compressor at a friends house in ...

Re: 250 Trailer Smoker

So I got it home today around noon, and after they put a new tire on I figured I would go ahead and make the other tire match and keep my one original tire left as a spare JIC. I upgraded to 3" Thermometers I can now calibrate and they look so much better and are honestly more accurate. Anyways enou...

Re: 250 Trailer Smoker

So here is when I took the smoker back to the fab shop http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff479/Tj_Wrangler_SC/Smoker_Build_250/IMG_2013080916775_zpsd6cd7ec4.jpg There's a little story about why I took it back to the fab shop. I picked up the smoker yesterday afternoon and shortly after getting on ...

Re: 250 Trailer Smoker

So I just got finished with the final touch ups on the smoker. Here's a quick review of what's been going on the last 2 months, I entered my first official KCBS competition. I entered the backyard division and thought for sure I would get the best results on my chicken. I didn't garnish anything and...

I did, and my local Harbor Freight is used to seeing me buy 2-3 packs of 10 cutoff discs EVERY TIME they go on sale.
BTW for those that don't know is about once every 3 weeks.

Re: 250 Trailer Smoker

So it's been a while since I posted any updates on this build. In fact I've been having so much fun using it I started to wonder if I was ever going to get the final touches finished up. Here I finally got the bar handles in place and removed the useless angle iron handles seen in solo many other pi...

Re: 250 Trailer Smoker

Thank you for the awesome feedback.
I Made The Shelves With 1X1 Angle And There Is 6" Between The Top Of The Bottom Shelf And The Bottom Off The Top Shelf. Then I Split The Difference For The Middle Shelf, Giving 2 1/2" Clearance If I'm Using All Three Shelves or 6" when cooking with the two.

Re: 250 Trailer Smoker

So I spent about 6 hours just burning up some wood in it today, playing with the intake dampers and waiting about 30min to see the effects. And for 4hours of that time I smoke about 3 lbs of fatback on the grates and got a good coating of grease on the racks and just about everything that slides and...

Re: Discount on SmokerPlans.net Part 2

So is there an ongoing discount code where active members can receive say a 10% discount on a second or third set of plans?
If so I can think of at least one member who would DEFINITLEY take advantage of that.

Re: 250 Trailer Smoker

Spent some more time working on the smoker today.
