Re: 24 x 60 offset trailer pit build

It's about 10" when sitting level. I've got a receiver hitch on order so I can level it out for towing.

Re: 24 x 60 offset trailer pit build

I finally posed for a couple of pictures. She's finally finished. Off to get sandblasted and powdercoated in the morning. If all goes as planned, I'll pick her up Wednesday, season Thursday afternoon, and roll out to a competition on Friday. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/05/qa2epyhu.jpg http://img...

Here she is sporting a new set of shoes. It pulled just fine before, now it's even better.

Re: CC lid hinge question.

No they would work fine. I already have the hinges finished on my smoker and I want to make an identical set for my grill. I was just saying I would like to use these to save time but I want them all to be the same.

Re: CC lid hinge question.

No doubt, I made mine with a hand grinder and it took the better part of a day. I'm looking at that set on ebay right now thinking I want to pull the trigger for my grill. Only problem is that it won't match the smoker.

Re: "Cursing in the church" FAST Brisket

It can be done just fine add long as you have the room in your pit. Keep the temp between 325-350. I let them roll fat cap down for about 4 hrs and then wrap with butcher paper. Back on the pit until they are probe tender. Could be anywhere between 5-6 hrs. After they probe tender I like to let them...

Re: Proper Welding Rod question for my RF smoker build

I burned mostly 6011 rods on my build. 7018 on the trailer frame. You'll be just fine either way, but use the one you're most comfortable with. And welding both sides of your joint is overkill, the outside alone will be fine

Mig welder question

Long story short, I'm looking for a new mig welder. Much like everything else I do in life, I am going to go overboard. I've always been a Miller fan but haven't had the privilege of running one of the new machines. I'm really leaving heavy towards the 252 but that little voice inside me keeps sayin...

I'm actually thinking about adding another 3500# axle to make it a tandem.

I'm already proud. At this point I'm just worried that I have the axle overloaded.

Re: 24 x 60 offset trailer pit build

Got started on the grill a couple of days ago but just got around to getting it mounted and taking some pictures. Cut the doors except for the corners, and now it's gonna sit for a few days while I'm out of town. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/28/ydepynuh.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/28/u3ab...

Re: Offset smoker build

Only thing wrong with cerakote is the cost to do something as large as a smoker and it must be baked on in an oven similar to powdercoat. Not sure if building a fire and heating from the inside would work but it's a thought.

Re: ? on cutting 1/4" plate & 16 ga

Nothing wrong with a good ol' oxy/acetylene torch. Just clamp on a piece of 3" angle for a straight edge/fence and let 'er rip. Keep your speed, angle, and distance consistent and you'll have a smooth cut.

I cook with S&P when I want to eat. Really season it up and sauce it when you only have one bite that counts.
