Re: My first build

I wonder if the door would wrap as bad if you cut the door before you welded the seam? If you just tacked the seam and cut the door?

Re: Questions about a 120 gallon RF smoker

MP4 I have a 12" shadow plate above my BP and it helps a lot to balance out the tkempatures in the CC. Its 1" above the BP.

RC, whatever it turns out to be you have your work cut out for you! Whatever you make I know it will be good. Hope it don't turn out to be a galvanized tank!

My advice is to stick to the plans. In my experience the two inlets work better especially in windy conditions. Jm2cw.

Re: Reverse flow mod project

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought you were making a RF smoker. If so the stack on the current setup is on the wrong end?

Welcome to the group. I see nothing wrong with the hy-brid stack mount. Someone smarter than me will have to answer your other questions.

Re: Door banding

Welcome to the fun and games! RC answered your question spot on with the two best reasons. It does make it easier to seal a slightly wrapped door, which it is very hard to get a perfect fitting door.

I must confess I smoked them in an electric smoker. I am camping in my trailer and my RF smoker is on a cart made out of a riding lawn mower.

You don't have to tell me about the heat in Missouri, I am in Heber Springs, Arkansas, fishing in the Little Red River. It is hot and muggy.

Re: Undersized Firebox ??

While you are at the scrapyard look for some scrap 1/4 " plate to make the firebox and see how much more expensive it is. I think you would be happier with a square FB.
