Pear wood

I would like to know if anyone has ever used pear wood for smoking meat, and if so what was the outcome. My father-in-law is cutting down a pear tree, and I wanted to know if it would be worth bringing the wood home.

Re: Ribs

Thanks everyone I have never got the rib perfection I was looking for. I have been cooking on a UDS I know now I was cooking way to hot. I hope to get started soon on a reverse flow project. I think I will be able to do a better job cooking on it. Thanks again.

Hello from Muscle Shoals, Al.

Hello,
I am new to smoker builder. I love the art of cooking. I am gathering materials for a reverse flow smoker, any and all advise would be greatly appreciated. It may take awhile before my build begins but when it does you all will be the first to see my progress step by step.
