FB & Warming Cabinet Question

Is the FB and warming cabinet 2 separate boxes or do they share anything common? Like top of FB and bottom of WC? I've looked through a lot pictures on here and other places but it's hard to tell.

Thank you,

Re: Wheels For Patio Smoker

Thanks to all!

One thing that comes to mind is how do I attached a solid rod to the wheel if I go that route? I've changed the axles in my truck but the axle has a hub attached. This is assuming I buy a wheel with a bearing integrated.

Thank you,

Ken

Re: Wheels For Patio Smoker

I would say go to this web site and look at some stuff Paul and Tyler make so you can see what they use. They build a lot of what you are working on. http://www.shirleyfabrication.com/offer/smokers-cookers Thanks Rodcrafter. I did go to their site and also watched their YouTube videos. That's how I...

Wheels For Patio Smoker

I'm planning on using 8" wheels for one side of my smoker and casters on the other. I've been looking at tires and wheels but what do I do for the axle? This smoker is going to be pretty heavy. 24" x 60" x .25" CC with cabinet doors, warming box and FB. I'd hate to go to the expense of a trailer axl...

Re: Patio Smoker Stand Thickness

It was a sturdy frame and somewhat trapezoidal, being wider at the base. image.jpeg The trapezoid is due to it being top heavy ...it's much more stable while pushing it around Puff - I've got another question. How do you determine the angles on the legs? Is there a math formula? Thank you, Ken

Re: Patio Smoker Stand Thickness

For patio rigs, just about anything you come up with is good. 3/4 x 1/8 angle is cheep and easy to build shelves in to the stand. Tube is great as long as you can either seal it up tight of drill drain holes at the bottom as it will fill with water and freeze if you live in such a climate. The free...

Re: Patio Smoker Stand Thickness

Thanks Puff and Rodcrafter!! I guess it was kind of negligent on my part to not state the size. I'm thinking a 24" x 48" CC, 20x20x22 FB and a warming cabinet. I'm also going to go the square door route like Tuscaloosa Q does in his videos. I like the trapezoid design for stability. Both of your smo...

Patio Smoker Stand Thickness

Hello All,

Getting ready to start building my RF Patio Smoker and I was wondering what does everyone use for the stand? I'm thinking square tube but what size and thickness is the prevailing thought?

Thank you,

Ken

Re: Smoker Trailer Build Help Needed..

TuscaloosaQ - I know this is an old post but exactly what do you mean by "I step my cooker into the trailer frame"? I read another post where you mention this but I didn't understand that.

Thank you.

Length of Trailer

I've been reading about the various sizes of trailers and I'm thinking I might go with a 5' x 10'. My question is does the 10' include the tongue and hitch or just the box frame?

Thank you

Thanks Smokeone and dcman. Ozark Mountain is actually the company I was talking about. Their prices seemed a little high compared to what I've read here.

Re: Steel In The Ozarks

Hmmm. That's interesting. You're not too far from me. That might be worth a trip since there's a propane tank salvage yard down the road from you a bit in Kingfisher. That might be trip worth making. I don't think there's any oilfield suppliers here in Springfield.

Thanks Brewer!

Steel In The Ozarks

I've been a lurker on here for awhile now and most of the posts answer my questions but I do have one question for the guys around SW Missouri. I live in Springfield and know Frank is in Rolla but I was wondering if anyone could tell me where the best place is to get steel. Mostly tube as I plan on ...
