Re: 120 gal lp tank rf plan search

I agree Franks plans are great but I think it is much more fun to just "fudge it" and see how it comes out. Find what you don't like about it and build another...

Re: dilemma

center box setup is just what he was saying the fire box in located in the center of the cook chamber as opposed to the end of the tank as a normal rf would be. The BP is open at both ends and heat and smoke travel up the center, down to both ends of the CC and up across the meat. and out the stack....

Re: Question about best option for my needs.

While a cabinet would require less space, one big enough for that kind of meat would be extremely big and heavy. I would think that it would be harder to transport a cabinet that big unless you put it on a trailer as well. Now a smoker like Egor that Gizmo built would be ideal if you were looking fo...

Re: 21Gal Reverse Flow Patio Smoker

Fiveflat, I am currently building one just like this and my fire box according to the pit calc is 12" square. My tank is a 21 gal air compressor tank and is about 1/8" think. FB is made out of 1/4" steel.

Re: gallons of paint?

Yes a gallon of paint will go a long way in a paint gun.. I don't know what you smoker looks like or how big it is but I would be suprised if you use much more than a quart of paint.. unless of coarse the smoker is as big as an 18 wheeler...

On the 1/4 inch stuff I have to bevel the edges of the metal to insure I have good penatration but o...

Gizmo, Impressive as usual... really love this cooker. I always wanted one that can be pulled behind a truck and hold alot of meat but never wanted one of the big cookers due to lack of space to park it while i wasnt using it.. This would seem to solve that problem.. Thanks for sharing the build

I happen to use Calphalon knifes... They are a little expensive but I have had mine for about 6 years and never had to have them sharpened... They are still sharp enough to cut my fingernails off when i dont get my fingers out of the way when cutting... but like i said they are a little expensive. I...

Hambone, Like you said if you get in to far over you head or mess things up you can chalk it up to a learning experience and scrap it.. I always said that if I learn something from my screw ups I am good... I don't always learn cause if I did I would be the smartest man on the face of the earth... I...

Thats one nice looking smoker... I had two of these tanks once and wanted to make a smoker out of them but unfortunatly they fell victim to a tornado... Any way enjoyed watching the build... Nice work
