I couldn't resist

Still in the middle of my first rf build and came across this tank on craigslist for $100. Had to get it! I think it's about 250 gallons, it's about 30" diameter and 7' long. Probably will be my first trailer build. Got some time to plan while I finish my current rf build. http://i260.photobucket.co...

Re: BBQ puller

I'm a Bowtie guy, but have to admit I do love driving the Ram Cummings when there at my shop for service, and those new crew cabs are HUGE!

Re: FB first build

Looks like you got a handle on this one … pun intended…. How much (if any) sag are you getting from those hinges? they look hell for stout but this is the stage to check that in case you need to adjust for it… :D No sag, and they pivot smoothly. Little worried they might tighten up once I get some ...

FB first build

Building a FB for an 80 gallon compressor tank and for my first build I'm real pleased with the results. Got the main door done and also have a door at the base of the box to empty out the ash. Next step is to fab up the latches for both doors and then weld it to the cc. Always get a little nervous ...

Gap between Door and FB

Hi All Been working on my FB. Got the sides all welded up and cut the 2 doors and fitted them. They fit real nice into the firebox, but there is very little gap between the edges of the door and the FB. Maybe 1/32" all around. Will this be ok or will I run into issues of the door expanding and bindi...

7" angle grinder 13amp or 15amp

Let the smoke out :explode2: of my 20 year old dewalt 4.5" angle grinder the other day. Looking at buying a 7" grinder and debating about spending the extra money for a 15amp grinder or saving a few bucks and going with the 13amp grinder. Lowes has pretty good deal on a 7" 13amp that comes with five...

Round versis square chimney

The calculator is determining that I need a chimney with roughly 306 cubic inches and 43” in length. I’m planning on using square tubing instead of round for my chimney and if I use square at the same length as recommended round, then my volume will be around 396 cubic inches. Can I reduce the squar...

Re: Hello from a New Member

:welcome: Bart, nice work on the cart! I bet your going to do a nice job on the cooker too. So is it going to be an RF or just an offset? Look forward to seeing you around. Merry Christmas going to be an RF. Never cooked on a RF and looking forward to trying it out. I did take one of my offset a fe...

Re: Hello from a New Member

Welcome to the addiction. I had to do a double take on the name of your new cooker. There is a product out there called FrankenQube from Iron Man Cookers and I was thinking you were stealing the name. Iron Man is a sister company of SmokerBuilder. No theft here, I had no idea Iron Man Cookers had a...

Hello from a New Member

Hi In the process of building my first BBQ and was doing research on the good old web when I came across this forum. I’ve been a student of Low and Slow Que for about 18 years now. Originally started out with a cheap water pan vertical cooker from Cabellas. Spent several years tweeking that cooker w...
