Re: Backwoods style build

I used 1" ceramic insulation. It works ok but I found out that 1" fiberglass panels would have been better.

Patent infringment issues

I am starting to seriously consider building and selling some smokers but I am kinda worried about getting hut with a patent infringement if I do. Does anyone know what patents are out there for smoker designs? Backwoods says they are "Using a patented double wall construction" but haven't been able...

bbq guru connector size

I would like to build my smoker to accept a BBQ guru without any adapters. I will be making a fitting on the lathe but i don't actually have a guru yet can someone tell me the diameter of the connector? or even better would be the inside diameter of the adapters.

Re: New backwoods clone build

Does anyone know if the short wall in the back is really needed? I know it is there to bring heat and smoke from the firebox but wouldnt the spaces on the sides be enough? I am in the planning stages of one of these and would like to simplify things a little and save some cost and weight.
