Re: first smoker all done!

I will snap a photo next time I go visit my parents. The initial run had a big problem with the direct heat from the middle and no heat on the sides. There are basically a bunch of holes about a half inch diameter that connect the two drums. I fabricated a 1/8" thick plate that covers the holes and ...

I think I will be needing something for sure once I feel like slicing and marinating some beef for some jerky! I cant wait. Winter is coming soon thoug...

Made an electric smoker

SO the current neighborhood is anti-charcoal. I built a barrel smoker last summer. Couldn't bring it. BUMMER. soon enough though. This being said... I went ahead and came up with an idea for an electric smoker. Then I (with a little help from my co-worker) went ahead and threw some metal up on the C...

Re: first smoker all done!

I think so, too. soon.just n time for fall/winter 2015. Hopefully somewhere I own and have a nice 2 car garage. a space for the old lady and a space for toys and tools. OH and an actual backyard. Unfortunately the barrel smoker is serving its purpose as a badass yard art at my parents house... :-l #-o

Then I moved to a neighborhood that did not allow charcoal grills/smokers. bummer. Now my UDS lives at my parents house. One day it will come home to a neighborhood that ap...

New to The Forum and Smoking!

Hello Everyone! I would consider myself a smoking virgin. I'm located in the immediate suburbs of Chicago. I love meat! I am currently building a "tee" shaped barrel smoker. A little more involved than I planned on getting. But, for a T1 I thinking its coming along nicely. A couple more steps and I ...
