Re: Questions on my build

Ideally the firebox should be @105% to 107%. Play with the size of firebox in the calculator to get down to that ratio. Hope this helps.

Re: Square RF

Doors sealed up nicely. The temps stay pretty close. A few times I seen maybe a 10/15 degree difference between the gauges.

Re: Square RF

Sorry for the delay. I can say I'm finish with the build expect for a few modifications on my wheels. Everything has been painted and test fire. This pass weekend I put her to the limit with two different cooks. Sunday, I cook 12 butts. Monday, I had 16 racks of baby backs and 40 lbs of wings. She h...

Re: CL offset deal

Pit calculator will get you what you need for correct stack. 2.5" is too small for smoke stack. I would have to said 4" would be the minimum in my opinion. If everything else measures out correct than stack should be easy fix.

Re: Square RF

We're going to give it a try. I think it should be better than the high temp paint from Lowes that I have used in the pass on my pervious firebox. Go my big RF, I have to repainted about once a year. And the temps I ran in it are @ 450-500 at the highest. I'll keep you posted on how it turns out.

Re: Square RF

Builds coming together nicely. I'm about to blast everything tomorrow and at least primer the frame for CC. I came across a good deal on some high heat industrial paint from Richard's. It's a high temp @1000 degrees use mainly for broilers and areas for high heat. It's also a rust inbitator. Guy at ...

Re: Square RF

Here's a little update on the build. All I have left to build is the fire basket for the firebox. Over the last day and half, I was able to finish pretty much everything. Grates for CC, dampers for firebox, gauges and new smoke stack. I originally plan for a 6" stack but only had 5" at the shop. I w...

Re: Square RF

Puff- I took a piece of exhaust pipe which was @4 15/16 in diameter and tack it inside a 5" pipe. I made it about 10" long so the it will set inside stack on cooking chamber about 6"". It's a good fit. I'm going to try it out and see what happens. The shay at pipe was a piece of stainless, didn't wa...

Re: Square RF

Just wanted to post an update. Work had me busy for the last couple of weeks but I was able to get a few things done this weekend. I took Rodcrafter advice and made a sleeve for the stack. I made the frame for my cart. I was able to finish the doors for cook chamber and attached the firebox. Hopeful...
