Trying to upload photos. Tapatalk isn’t being nice......

Anyhow, smokestack installed and half of the CC door framed. Going to finish the frame tonight and bend to fit (door sprung). Hopefully I will have the hinges welded and door mounted before stopping tonight.

Making some nice progress. Don’t forget that now is the time to put in a shadow plate. Much easier to put it in before you weld the baffle plate down.
I put that shadow plate in before the baffle. Thanks again for the recommendation

Re: Second Build Underway! Patio Model

Son of a ... I’ve been there! Don’t you have a half a spool of some old flux core or .030 wire hiding on a shelf somewhere? I hate hanging it up before I finish my list of to-dos. Looks great so far sir. All good. It was time to hang it up anyways. I’ll snag a big spool tomorrow and get after it. T...

Second Build Underway! Patio Model

Coming along great. Any closer to your cart/caster design yet? Not yet. Still searching around for some ideas. Ran out of wire tonight so had to stop. Great progress tonight: FB/CC welded, baffle and drain pipe finished. I’ll clean up today’s work and start on the door tomorrow. https://uploads.tap...

Not too bad of a patch job, and it will work being on the underside of the smoker.

Re: Second Build Underway! Patio Model

Great build Mankussm. Very cool you're building this for your dad. Is that a subtle hint for him to smoke his own meat for once? I like your baffle setup with the cut gaps along the sides where it extends into the curved end of your tank. Thoughts on that design vs just a straight cut across the en...

It's basically a plate that is mounted at the top of your throat about 1'' below the BP and runs about the first 20%-25% of the length of your BP. It helps to avoid a hot spot right at the throat. I'll try to find a picture to help explain it a little bit better. It's not a must have but it does he...
