Re: Starting a 110 gallon build

Today I came across an amazing deal on a trailer. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h72/USMCCBR929RR/Smoker%20Build/IMG_5803_zpse146fa02.jpg Progress today was attaching the FB to the CC. COMPLETE! Also, welded in rails in the FB for the charcoal basket http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h72/USMCCBR9...

Re: Starting a 110 gallon build

I've had that happen to me as well but there is a much finer adjustment of output on that thinner stuff than the heavier plate and finding it might take more time than you really wanna spend You made it look great I swapped sticks half way through. I was using 1/8 6013, then moved to 3/32. I was ab...

How to pick a trailer!?!

I don't want to build a trailer for my 110ga RF, but would like to buy one and mount it.

I have found many PWC trailers, but I don't know if they will be strong enough. The 4x8 utility trailers don't look strong enough either. Do I need a 3500# GVWR or can I get away with 2000#?

Today I cut the tanks legs off, marked up the door, and cut it. Re: Starting a 110 gallon build

Can someone look over my math? CC volume = 25410 cu. in. actual FB volume = 8470 cu. in. recommended Chimney volume = .05 x 9680 = 484 cu. in. ( 4" ID stack X 38" tall above the CC ) FB to CC recommended opening = .008 X 9680 = 78 Sq. in. ( 12" r x 5.5" height ) RF plate area 78 X 1.5 = 116 sq. in. ...

Today's work: Cut 4 - 20" x 22" of 1/4in plate Tomorrow's work: Cut 2 - 22" x 22" of 1/4in plate for top and bottom FB plate, then mark up and cut door on tank. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h72/USMCCBR929RR/Smoker%20Build/FBsidescut_zpsd056f16e.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h72/USMCCBR9...

Re: Starting a 110 gallon build

Started the burn process today. I will need to cut the door out to get the most out of this burn. With only the FB to CC cut, the fire was getting choked out from no air intake vent. It looks like it only burnt one side of the tank. I started with a couple pallets. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: Starting a 110 gallon build

Looks like you hit the jackpot on the tank and steel! If you don't mind my asking what are the dimensions of the tank? I am looking at a tank for a patio build that I think is about the same size. Looking forward to seeing how your build comes together for ideas. Catfish, I plan to have this comple...

Starting a 110 gallon build

Hey Guys, I have been lurking on this site for quite some time now. I have learned a lot about RF smokers, and I finally took the plunge this weekend. I was able to get a 110 propane tank from CL for $75. Then I was able to grab some steel from the local scrap yard. My payload includes 2 4'x4' sheet...

Checking In

I have been trolling the site for some time now. Unfortunately the first tank I got for my build was galvanized under the paint so I had to dump it. :headwall: I have been collecting scrap here and there to put together a patio setup. I will be looking at a 110ga and 150ga tomorrow. Looking forward ...
