On my list of things to try. Also going to try a pellet tube under the transfer.

I made a stuffin’ stick out of a broom handle and a old bicycle handlebar grip.

Thanks for the info. Yesterday I bought the plans with the cutting file. I’ve sent it off to a company to get a quote. I’ll let you know the price once I know.

They ever give you a price?

I had the chute and firebox cut by laser out of Florida. Then I found a guy local with a plasma table and gave him the dxf file.

Well done awesome build and thanks for your patience in explaining your build. I just bought plans and hope to start my build soon.
Any questions don’t hesitate to ask. Where are you located?

Re: Mini Steel Cost

The Mini is fully insulated. Not a real use case for high temp paint since the outside doesn’t get above 100 degrees. I powder coat mine for durability but have seen rattle can and car paint used.

Did you find a better price on getting everything cut?

Re: Mini Gravity Feed.

Where are you located? In NC it cost me 3 sheets of 16ga and $150 to have the skins cut.

I want to think Frank has some of the Mini parts pre cut for sale. Depending on where you live, it may be a solid route to go.

Re: My First Smoker Build (24 x 46 RF Smoker) Complete w/ Q Pics

Guys, I'm about to make this build. I've never worked a warming cabinet smoker and was wondering if I could use it for actual cooking when not in need of the main chamber. Does that make any sense? Sorry newbie here. Welcome! I will be honest. I’ve never used it as a warming cabinet. It does get to...

Re: Mini GF Performance

Basically the idea is you can, instead of the ball valve threaded onto the pipe nipple you put a coupling. Then you can thread a reducer into the coupling. I use the BBQGuru Pit Viper fan, just because they have done all the work and make adapters for anything I can think of putting my Heatermeter o...

Re: DP GF rack spacing

I just pulled the trigger on these plans, and wanted to know if there's any disadvantage to adding additional channels above each of the channels in the drawing, giving an optional 4" spacing between racks, instead of the regular 5" space. This would allow me to squeeze one more rack in for ribs :D...

Re: Thoughts on doors and racks?

For doors on a round chamber I go top dead center and down to 2” past mid center. For my grates I do 4” above baffle plate and middle between that grate and the top of the chamber on a 2 rack setup. Ultimately its preference. I like cooking butts so I make sure my racks are sized for “Optimal Butt P...

24x48 patio, Is it too big?

If you search for my build, I built a 24”x46” RF Patio with Rib Box.

I’ll post a pic when I get home. But I went with 1 door and needed a counterweight. Most I’ve had in it was 9 butts, 3 Briskets, and 4 racks of Ribs at the same time. Cooked like a Champ!
