Re: Brick oven/grill build

First pizza tests made last evening. Still have to make some tools, like pizza shovel and some iron to move the embers. Also I will make a barbeque grill mesh with small legs. http://pro-ht.mbnet.fi/Muu/pizza_oven/pizzaoven_first_pizza_01.jpg http://pro-ht.mbnet.fi/Muu/pizza_oven/pizzaoven_first_piz...

Re: Brick oven/grill build

You are on the right track, two handles is what I will try out. Will also make the whole door of thinner sheet. Now the oven is 99.5% finished. :) http://pro-ht.mbnet.fi/Muu/pizza_oven/pizzaoven_finished_first_test.jpg Also first small test done today. :) http://pro-ht.mbnet.fi/Muu/pizza_oven/pizzao...

Re: Brick oven/grill build

Thank you :) Thats sounds nice. Please do a project thread about your build. :) Two days has the heater warmed the concrete and it feeled quite dry. So we did little tile work today. Had only limited time so didn't get everything done. But we are close to the finish now. :D http://pro-ht.mbnet.fi/Mu...

Re: Brick oven/grill build

There is one design failure that bugs me. The yellow fire bricks in the oven would have needed to be assembled with a step compared to the concrete face, so when the tiles are layed they are at same level as the fire bricks. But now I just have to leave the tiles out of the oven door inlet. :headwall:

Re: Brick oven/grill build

The oven is now finished, only need to do the steel door for it. The weather starts to be quite bad, lots of rain, so just after finishing the oven it started to rain again. Had to cover with some plastic.. http://pro-ht.mbnet.fi/Muu/pizza_oven/pizzaoven_oven_finished_rain.jpg Today it was sunny wea...

Re: Brick oven/grill build

About the flue(chimney or what it's call'd?). First plan was to make it of bricks. But as the oven isn't very big, the brick flue just didn't look good. Too massive in size... http://pro-ht.mbnet.fi/Muu/pizza_oven/pizzaoven_brick_flue_test_not.jpg.jpg So I ordered parts for a stainless flue. 6.3" di...

Re: Brick oven/grill build

Thank you guys for the comments. :) Well, my experience with bricks is about twentyfive years ago when we made a new flue with my uncle. :) These bricks are old and all are little bit different size so the build is mostly done bye the "eye". I'm no professional so the outcome is what is it haha. :D ...

Re: Brick oven/grill build

Now the concrete table molding has been done. Under the mold I put 3mm steel plates and inside a steel mesh. Also embedded fire bricks in the concrete on the place where the oven/fire part will be. http://pro-ht.mbnet.fi/Muu/pizza_oven/steel_plates_01.jpg http://pro-ht.mbnet.fi/Muu/pizza_oven/steel_...

Re: My mini RFS build

Hello all! Long time since last update. Last summer was really warm and nice, so almost all time went on the lake fishing. But now in the autumn finally got the groundwork done for my bricks. Hope to lay the bricks next spring. Some pics of the groundwork: http://pro-ht.mbnet.fi/Muu/pizza_oven/pizza...

Re: My mini RFS build

Thanks guys! :-) We have this smoker at our summer house. Would be nice to also have some "thing" to make food in the home garden. Found a batch of old bricks. About 700-900 pieces... 5 trailer loads. We chall see what to make out of those next summer. :needfood: http://pro-ht.mbnet.fi/Muu/pizza_ove...

Re: My mini RFS build

Long since last post. But this smoker is still in active use. Starts to look crappy though, as most of the paint has burnt off and it has got a nice rusty color. But it cooks ahlright. Last summer I noticed the other thermometer has stuck, so it may be the temp difference was caused by a bad unit. N...
