Re: FireBox Design Question

Thanks Gizmo... just a few more questions... How much of a taper on the pipe do you think it would need to get the desired effect? Since I am trying to move more air, do you think the FB is going to need more air intake? You mentioned Twice the stack, can I just double the Calculators height? Sounds...

Re: FireBox Design Question

Do you think the FB or Throat opening/pipe will need to be larger than what the Calculator states along with a longer stack?

Re: FireBox Design Question

Yes, I plan on placing 1/4 inch plate between the Grill and CC. For looks I wanted to keep the Grill smoke stack and RF smoke stack together, which is why I am toying with the idea of attaching the FB via a pipe.

Re: FireBox Design Question

I am wanting to put a charcoal grill next to my CC so I can have a dual purpose unit. I am not a fan of using the FB as a grill.

Here is another crude drawing of my overall design.

FireBox Design Question

Anyone ever seen a fire box attached to the CC by a pipe? Obviously the pipe would have to be the correct throat size from the FB to CC. Would it matter if the pipe comes from the top of the firebox as opposed to the side?

Below is my crude drawing trying to help explain.

Bacon Wrap Apple Nuggets

So today's appetizer was Bacon Wrapped Apples Nuggets...

Took some Granny Smith's apples cut into bite size pieces, wrapped in Bacon, dusted with Brown Sugar, and Cinnamon.

Re: Chicken Cordon Bleu Scotch Egg

Thanks... A lot of the guys around here will take a pork loin and pound it out and stuff it with you name it... Just like a fatty except they use pork instead of sausage.

Tomorrow is Pork Loin, with bacon wrapped apples as an appetizer...

Chicken Cordon Bleu Scotch Egg

I am not sure about everyone else, but I am extremely happy that College Football has arrived again. So, to mark the occasion I thought I would try a Chicken Cordon Bleu Scotch Egg. Take a boneless Chicken thigh and pound it until it is a consistent thickness. 20140830_110344-1-1[1].jpg Then add the...

Re: How to install a door for a brick smoker

I also thought of making a fire box out of brick for a RF in a built in out-door kitchen, but have decided my brick laying skills are not up to the task. When I was thinking through how I would build the doors I had planned on building a frame out of 2 or 3 inch angle iron and brick around it to kee...

Patio Smoker with a Twist

I am going to build a reverse flow “Patio Smoker” with a twist. I have been designing this in mind for a while and finally got the green light from the wife :D . So the twist is the smoker will be built into an outdoor kitchen with the firebox being built into the counter out of fire brick. Also, I ...
