I don't have any plates its just what you see in the picture a hole where the side firebox goes into the cook chamber a basic offset smoker.

Need Help

I'm having problems with the smoker I just built its a standard offset ashes keep blowing into the cook chamber I need some ideas on how to stop this I have included pics.

thanks for the info guys I do have a bunch of crab apple but it is green however I do have some seasoned mulberry that I would really like to try out.

Wood for a turkey

I'm getting ready to smoke a turkey and I don't know what type of wood to use right now I have seasoned red oak cherry and silver maple I hear sugar maple good to use but don't know about silver maple and I don't know if the red oak would be to strong what do you guys think?

Im having trouble burning the paint off got it really hot then hit the outside with a water hose just a little bit of the paint came off I then tried to scrape it off while it was hot got some more off but there is still quite a bit on the tank could I just sand it down and paint over it with high h...

Alright I have my firebox done and tank mounted and door cut out now I need to burn the tank out what would be the best way to do it build a fire in the firebox or build one in the tank itself?

Well guys here's the pics I promised I still need to weld up the last side of the firebox and weld the tank in then its on to cutting the door only thing I think I might have a problem with is the gap around the firebox door you can see it in one of the pics but it might not be too bad I hope lol.

I got my firebox door cut out today going to cut our the door braces and door tabs tomorrow but I need some help I want to put the door tabs on the outside of the firebox door to keep the heat in and cover up the ugly looking but marks but can't figure out how to do it and still be able to open the ...

on your fire box door I see you stood your braces up would it make any difference if I layed my flat bar braces flat? if I don't it will be hitting my fire grate.

i'm using the thin cut off disc they cut much easier than a sawzall but hard to cut out shapes like the air intake.

I got my intake vent cut out today with an angle grinder was not easy lol now just need to cut out the fb door and I can weld the fb together since im using 1/4 inch steel do I still need to put braces on the fb door if so what would be a good way to do it also what would be the best way to seal up ...

I started building my smoker today went to the steel yard got 1/4 steel for my firebox its going to be 12x12x15 first thing I did was cut the propane tank just enough to cover my fb to cc opening which is 4 1/2 by 4 1/2 square plus an half inch to stop any grease making its way into the fb I can't d...

ok I've changed my firebox size to 15x12x12 im going to try and use 1/4 plate for the steel thickness if it doesn't cost too much.

The reason I wanted to make the fire box bigger is so I could put longer sticks of wood in it and woulden't have to cut them and people keep saying make the fire box bigger than it needs to be make room for the fire grate and so forth a bigger fire box shouldn't matter as you will be controlling the...

Hi guys thanks for the help I have my tank marked out and ready to cut but before I do it would be great if someone could check my calculations for me I have 3 1/4 height and 11 13/16 width for my half moon opening seems small to me here is a pic of the tank.

Hi I'm getting ready to start my first smoker build and don't know what size I need to cut my firebox to cook chamber opening the propane tank I will be using is 42 inches long with a 14 inch diameter and I want my firebox to be 15 by 15 square any info I can get will be a big help.
