Re: Matt's Big Mack

Big congrats on the win.

Mack is amazing, I love it when frank cooks on his.

Self-propelled...... hell yes..... show me pics and take my money.

Yes to stack and inlet control on the temp difference between racks. We don’t stress over it, we use it to our advantage.

Re: Beef ribs

This is not the guy I was talking about but these look pretty good. The ones nick did were a much longer bone. More like they came from a triceratops then from a cow.

Re: Beef ribs

Used to be a guy on here named Nick, he was the king of beef ribs. OMG could he cook a mean beef rib.

I want to find them for a good price and experiment with them cause DANG they were good.

Re: Looking for Advice on a Grill/Smoker Combo

If I didn’t live at SmokerBuilder HQ , and I had a patio, I think I would want a Santa Maria grill, and then have a pellet cabinet smoker.

Most of the folks I cook for like mild smoke, and I love the set it and forget it of pellets.

Gas is for emergencies... lol. Just kidding.

Re: Pipe as a baffle?

The pipe for a baffle has me thinking.

Will it work? Not sure.

The grease damm would be very different.

It would need two grease drains.

Will it save material possibly.? Maybe.

I feel like I want to do some testing.

That little machine is very capable. Joint prep is the key to success. A little bevel goes along ways.

Re: Gravity Feed Rescue

So, just to make sure everyone understands the magnitude of the devastation. This cooker was originally sold to a guy that had a friend that was a welding teacher. As a teacher, he broke the first rule of school!! He didnt follow the directions that frank gave him. From there I think it was a free f...

Re: 460 pound tank, gravity feed charcoal smoker

Howdy Dennis, now that’s funny stuff. I was thinking the same thing..... hold my beer ...... lmao. I would definitely use the 10 inch channel. It’s always easier to block off part of the channel then to have to open it up. Same principle ( but opposite) as building a reverse flow when we extend the ...

Re: Open Items Before Purchasing Plans

Yes and yes It smokes everything great!! Bread, baskets, tarts, brownies, cakes, cobblers, and the list goes on. I run the same cabinet with a pellet hopper at home. It’s the easy button. But I faithfully cook brownies every dang time I smoke. As mentioned the top rack could easily be modified to ha...
