Re: Newbie first build, (20 x 50 RF)

annnddd DONE, there are some things in retrospect I would do differently (namely don't use spiral weld pipe). But overall I am very happy with it http://i.imgur.com/Vzw6Q0H.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ua8Fv6B.jpg The warp in the door is very apparent from this side, oh well. Big glop of silicone should h...

Re: Newbie first build, (20 x 50 RF)

Alright! So close to being done, only needs to be painted. Started off this weekend by grinding off that enormous annoying spiral weld on the front of the door Took about 45min with the 7inch grinder http://i.imgur.com/Bvm6Lgd.jpg Thought all those axe handles were a cool idea so decided on that for...

mig wire score at lowes heads up

Went to lowes today and they were selling off 12.5lb spools of lincoln electric .025 super arc wire in the bargain rack. Tool section guy said it was an unpopular size and don't sell well so they are phasing it out...bought the only 2 left for $24.99

Re: Newbie first build, (20 x 50 RF)

Thanks for the comments guys I've made some cookers out of spiral pipe, when I lived in the oil field in Texas. I can tell you that they all act the same way. Back then my head was harder than the pipe so I would fight it with various hydraulic devices until it fit. I'm not as willing now. Making me...

Newbie first build, (20 x 50 RF)

Let me preface this build by saying if you see a spiral weld pipe and think to yourself that you want to make a smoker out of it, run, run far away. Had one hell of a time with distortion when the cutting started. Wish we could have just found a propane tank. The learning curve was strong. This was ...
