Re: Richy's Mini GF

Update: Just wanted to give an update on the machine. First off, I love it. It is incredible so far. Here are some highlights: 1. Low maintenance. (Emptying the grease is the only thing I have to do every 6hours or so. I am just afraid of a grease fire it may just be me.) 2. Great fuel economy. (On ...

Re: 2" Npt pipe for mini build

I used this one when I did mine or you can go to a plumbing store like some else said. I forgot what the measurement was but I would definitely just have the threaded portion sticking out plus an 1in at the most and just remember the skin thickness. When I did mine I did about 3" plus the threaded p...

Richy's Mini GF

http://s1126.photobucket.com/user/richy119/BBQ%20pit/story Well, I finally finished my build. Took me forever because I worked on it just every now and then. I logged 128hours total but can definitely cut it down by 36hours if I didnt have to clean up my parents garage every single day and put ever...

Re: First gravity feed build. Modified mini

I skinned mine first then did the door curbs. It made hiding my ugly cuts easier. :kewl:

Re: Newbie build - Mini GF

I did on mine but did not put anything on the fire box and chute. I know that a lot of people on here don't do anything at all but I figured I would. I used ultra high heat rustolyeum paint. Obviously I did not put paint inside the interior cook chamber where food will be but just on the outside of ...

I believe he is talking about the two legs that lock the FB in. See my example picture attached. Also, I did the curb after the sheet metal too I figured it would be easier as well.

Re: Newbie build - Mini GF

I found it easier to do a couple of plug welds before welding the seams. I also think it is a good idea in the long run in case the seams start to tear apart for some reason.

Re: Newbie build - Mini GF

Just be careful welding the cook chamber because it is easy to warp that thin metal. It happened to me. Just take your time. Good stuff so far. :-bd

Re: 2 1/2" valve

Are the correct parts Air Inlet Valve 47865K28 and Drain Valve 4786K27 from McMaster's? Also, what's the best plate to get them? Seems a bit pricey.

Thank you.
