Re: UDS build from a pressure tank

Very cool build. What are the dimensions of that tank? The grease drain is a very good idea. It will save so much clean up time.

Re: How to run a gravity feed??

Very interesting. I've been using my ugly drum a lot for these smaller cooks but once this corona virus deal is over and I use my GF I will do more testing. I will borrow my cousins maverick and use my maverick and compare with the BBQ guru and analyze the crap out of everything. I will share my fin...

Re: How to run a gravity feed??

Any updates on this? This also happens to me but I usually don't get the opportunity to fully load it. When I do use all the shelves I use the variance to my advantage. Thicker cuts at the bottom rack. I have noticed that when I heat it up a long time in advance I get less variance. I am going to tr...

Re: Long Burn UDS Basket design Ideas?

I have done several long cooks with the basket I made but I use Royoal Oak Lump charcoal. Last time I did a brisket and pork butt. Started on a Friday night 10pm and put the food on at 10:30pm and in the morning about 7:00am wrapped and it was done by noon. Never had to add fuel and have about a 1/4...

Re: Richy's UDS Build

It finally stopped raining and I could finally get you some Q view. I had some issues with only having 2 gun barrels but fixed that. Here are the remaining pictures that are long over due. This project was really fun and it did not take too much time. It took me longer to wait for a nice weekend to ...

Yea it is a pretty good deal especially if you know how to restore it (weld & grind). It doesn't even look that bad.

Richy's UDS Build

Well guys I built a mini GF last year and now I need something a little bit more portable for smaller cooks. I plan on building a 55gal UDS with 3ea 1" intakes and putting the racks and fire baffles per the attached image. Does anyone have any comments on my fire baffle placement? Or the second cook...

Re: Richy's Mini GF

I used Ultra High Heat Rust-Oleum paint. I thought you didn't need a primer for this paint. I used prep-sol and cleaned the metal really well before painting. The weird thing is that it is only when grease hits it. It just completely disintegrates it. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Specialty...
