Another pic of it and I made it so that it’s removable just in case it rusts out a few years down the line

Re: New Build has started mini GF +6”

I’ve pretty much almost finished the FB. I’ve just got the chute to weld on and to make a removable fire grate. Here are some photos as to the progress so far. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190705/ea6a29ab133c4837bfbb027c70b8be0c.jpg I wrote front on it as i nearly welded it the wrong way round...

New Build has started mini GF +6”

Hi a little while back I bought the mini GF plans from Frank and started the planning. I went along the route of getting the frame and the firebox CNC cut. I made a change in that i added 6” to the height of the Mini GF. The cutting was pretty flawless and looked awesome. I’ve welded the frame toget...

Re: Controller for a mini

Thanks to all for the replies I’m not a tech person at all. I struggle to install a car radio. I just came across this post on another site about Thermaworks new update https://www.grillseeker.com/2019/07/thermoworks-billows-review-airflow-pit-controller-accessory-for-thermoworks-signals-thermometer...

Re: Controller for a mini

I sent this to you in a pm, but I will post it here too for general information. You will need a windows machine to load the sd card with the operating system. Heatermeter 4.2 or 4.3? I don’t want to have to solder a bunch of resisters and diodes. Heater Meter 4.3 Raspberry pi. Which one? rasbery p...

I was just testing posting a pic direct from my phone. So that after I’ve done a few things I didn’t have to sit in front of the Mac to post pics. So glad it’s worked! 😀

What rod size can i use for 4mm metal

I need some help i have a stick welder that i purchased 3 years ago for a offset smoker. But i am now building a mini GF. For the mini I’m using 4mm plate and tubing. I’m struggling with rod size as I’ve tried 2.5mm 7018 rods. The setting for them are 90-120 but it keeps burning through. If i go low...

Re: Is there an easier way to stuff insulation into the frame

Found the thread and the tip l was looking for I had to figure out real quick on how to get the insulation into the tubing after to no avail would the insulation slide into the tubing trying to stuff it from one end…So I came with a method where I used a piece of vinyl siding and cut it down to the ...

Is there an easier way to stuff insulation into the frame

I remember seeing on the forum someone found an easier way to get the insulation into the frame. I can’t seem to find it. If anyone can help it will be appreciated.

Re: Changes to the plans

I laid it all out in scale and it will work just fine. Also planning on a couple other odds and ends because I’m slightly OCD. I know it needs “rain curbs” but this cooler will likely never see elements, so the doors will be flush. If it does get wet, I have a plan for that as well What size are yo...

I was under the impression that some of the plans were already converted to metric....you might check if you haven't already. I know this comes up pretty often.
There is only 2 smokers that are metric and mini GF with cnc file is not one of them.

Re: Changes to the plans

Here is the link to the build that Big T was referring to I think http://smokerbuilder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=149&t=6392 he doesn’t seem to have any issues. I purchased the mini plans and am also adding 6” and another rack. I’m in process of converting the measurements to something I understand ...

I'm just shocked that that's just the cut price with no material
Sorry I caused confusion this is the cut price including the metal for the sizes on the .dxw file. ( The metal is supplied by the company doing the cutting.)
