Re: 40 Gal build

Dirty, you make a good point! I must clarify that I was using a 1/16" cutoff disk, I'm not surprised by how quickly it went. I'm in the process of trying different wheels out to see what I like best!

Re: 40 Gal build

Yep, I don't want to be pulling pieces out of me; full welding mask on grind mode, heavy full sleeves and pants with leather gloves, grinder guard in place.

Re: 40 Gal build

Got the mounting bracket for the pump and motor removed and bungs removed from the top. I still need to get some grinding done to make it flush but making some progress. I learned that I will need many more cut off wheels haha. Went through one just doing the two things noted above! Next step will b...

Re: 250 gallon offset problem

What do you mean that your "food doesn't cook"?

Can you give some examples of time vs internal temp for some things you have tried cooking?

Re: My First Smoker Build (24 x 46 RF Smoker) Complete w/ Q

Gotcha, looked like it was a gray primer that came back from the blaster.

Thanks!

Did the blaster also coat in high temp primer for you?

Re: 1st Build out of 60 Gal Compressor Tank - be gentle

Hey Manufacture Builder, start a thread, I too am doing a 60gal tank build (though my thread title says 40gal). I am still deciding if I want to do a RF or not.

Re: 40 Gal build

Thanks Squiggle, I'm still learning and have a long way to go! I have not played with the side to side wiggle, I've been using the cursive "e" approach. I feel like I'm not going fast enough, I turned the wire speed way down from the recommendation on the chart as I was ending up with just a massive...

A couple more welds. The top one was me playing with settings and dragging instead of pushing and the bottom was me pushing. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161010/b5bf317e56ce4f0eed54f69552082661.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161010/579f76093657f7f49f75a98c8d85266d.jpg Sent from my iPhone...

Simple question

I know this may sound really elementary, but for the life of me I can't come up with good answers. In starting to lay out my tank cuts, how can I make the following marks accurately? A straight line at TDC from one end to the other, best I have come up with is find the TDC and then measure up from a...

Re: 40 Gal build

Well, it's been 6 months since my last post, and absolutely nothing has been done in that time frame haha. I got the idea over the summer to try to get my dad's old boat back in the water and that took up all my free time. That and chasing my 15 month old son around! The weather is getting cooler, t...

On the FB group "BBQ Classifieds" there was a post yesterday about propane tank, $200 a piece located in Robinson, TX (76706). Looks like he has 56 250 gallon tanks.

My first welds! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160331/412c5f57915b5feaaae94a29d11b307e.jpg The two on the far left are fluxcore and the rest are MIG. The two on the bottom right are the last two I did, the longer ones are the first ones. Really easy to let the gun get too far away from the work. ...

Mine is bung happy as well! I have 12 in my tank not including the pressure switch bung on the front right where a thermometer would go nicely. I'm going to have to cut mine out and weld them.

Re: 40 Gal build

So I finally have an update! I kind of fell into at least one welder and maybe two. I found an awesome deal on a Hobart Handler 140 (the new one with 5 tap settings) brand new never used for $300 at a pawn shop in VB. My buddy is picking that one up today for me. I also am currently the winning bidd...

Very cool man, let me know what you think of that Cut50. I'm still looking for a decent deal on a welder. Most likely will have BMG cut my plate for me.
