Re: Finished reverse flow

Thanks guys. I’m truly impressed with how well it drafts and holds temperature consistently. You guys definitely know your stuff when it comes to building these. Thanks!!!

I don’t post on here much, but have definitely gotten tons of info from reading this forum.
This was all figured using the calculator on here, and I must say it works perfect.

Re: 40 Gal build

I see you are on hold, you should check out eastwood.com for a cheap durable welder. I have a miller 212 which is awesome but kinda expensive. I also have a eastwood 180 that came with a spool gun. It welds very well for the money. For what its worth i would recommend it to anyone who is a hobbyist ...

Re: ECU Fire Ring

Thanks guys!!

I dont think a fire will ruin it. Its 12 ga. HR steel W/ 1200 degree paint. should hold up.

Rodcrafter- Haha the plasma table is definitely a worth while investment..

Re: Flat on each end?

If i had a piece rolled to around 30", Would 3/16" steel be fine to use? Or should i go with 1/4". This will live on my patio, but may occasionally go to mom and pops for family get together's. So weight is a small factor..

Re: My fire pit

Yes. The whole top is 3/16 plate. Then I put th B where it would be on the lid and cut some holes on the table. Then it th b out of 3/16. The B is plug welded on th back so you don't see the welds. The pit part is a head off of a large propane tank. Maybe 250 gallons. Or more. The lid is 46" across ...

Flat on each end?

I see most of these smokers being old tanks. would it work if i rolled my own tank and both ends were flat, or does the rounded ends help with Flow? Im new to this, just thinking about making this 100% from scratch.

Thanks
Chris

Hello

I am new to this site, but very interested in building me a smoker... My old brinkmann has been good but time to move on. I have already learned a lot in just the few posts i have read through. Hopefully i can find me a tank and start a rf smoker soon. I have my own small fab shop, you know welders,...
