Me, i enjoy the building process and the flexibility that comes with a working understanding of the parameters at hand. Heck chances are I'll eventually end up getting rid of this one in order to build another one, and somebody will be really happy to buy it for the cost of materials plus some beer ...

I have fun designing and building. Case in point I recently sold the last smoker I built a few years back because I want to build one of these. If I don't get all the quirks out of this one I'll probably end up selling it too and then start another one. Are most people here just building from plans?...
