Re: UDS firebaskets

Thanks Ajfoxy. Making either is just as easy so as we're building 2 hunsaker/gateway type clones we're going to build one with a solid firebox and one with a mesh one and run them side by side and see if there's any difference. If one seems to noticable outperform the other we'll make another firebo...

Would adding one of these: http://udsparts.com/baskets/uds-drum-block-off-plate-for-charcoal-basket.html mak...

Mods have now been made. Vent added to top of panel to allow some heat out from around raspberry pi https://image.ibb.co/kNnkHQ/IMG_1159.jpg Air intake now enters from underneath, this keeps the servo outside. new damper made from ford focus throttle body https://image.ibb.co/dsw1rk/IMG_1156.jpg htt...

Door handle installed https://image.ibb.co/hJh4uk/IMG_1103.jpg Steve then painted her with some paint he had "lying around" (as you do). Re: Stumps clone build

This is fantastic ... gives me the confidence to build the same specially since its the same size as I want. I will buy the same design plan and use your post as my visual guide A few questions: 1. Which design plan did you build on ... (link please)? 2. Will it give the same leak proof as an origi...

Cook chamber/charcoal chute seams

Hi, was wondering what people's thoughts were on using this: http://www.screwfix.com/p/mapei-mapeflex-firestop-1200-c-high-temperature-grout-grey-300ml/25153 along the joins in the cook chamber and charcoal chute. It would allow me to be certain they were sealed and airtight and reduce the amount of...

Stumps clone build

Just started my build. Its the plans or the middle size gravity fed (stumps clone, firebox on right. Being built in a friends workshop as he has the space and equipment (not to mention way better fabrication skills than I do, I can weld but tend to spend 3 times longer with the grinder than he does!...

Expanded metal for Racks

Hi, I'm converting the sizes in the plans to metric to order the parts for my build, but I'm struggling to find the specs for 3/4 x 911 expanded metal for the racks. Can anyone advise on the specs for this as I can't locate on google? Would this be suitable? EXP PS2073F - Expanded Metal w 2440 Lengt...

Single VS Double Pan

Hi Folks, I have the single pan gravity fed plans, but the more I think about it the more I wonder If I'll end up wishing I'd built the double pan. Question I have before I buy a second set of plans is how much bigger is the double pan? Is it just a bigger cook chamber to allow for 2 pans to fit or ...

Re: Gravity fed plans - overall size

I thought the mini might be too small, although i could always cook chicken on the UDS i suppose, but the whoile point of building this is so I don't have to lug so many Q's to a comp, not to mention the thought of being able to get some sleep rather than fire watching all the time as i do at the mo...

Gravity fed plans - overall size

Hi Folks, my first ever post here! I want to build a gravity fed but I'm having difficulty deciding which one, it's hard to determin from people pictures how large they are overall. I want to able to cook, in an ideal world everything for a competition cook in one place, so 2 pork butts, 1 brisket, ...
