Tadpole Gasket

Has anyone used a tadpole gasket over the nomex gasket? Anything you have to change over the plans and what size did you use... thanks in advance

you have the prints you could easily measure something ruffly the same size or simply nail some pallet wood or 2x4 together?

Yeah we go through about 700-800 tons of steel a year. We've done some crazy beams now and then like 7qty W14 X279 that we're 45'. There close to 13,000# ea. Now that's a over kill

yeah its nice to have access to the equipment, I work out of a 40' x 40' shop that is heated and air conditioned after my normal job. I got all the necessary tools there as well, tig mig, plasma cutter, hyd. tubing bender and by the sounds of it the most important part to this build a 6000# fork tuc...

Flipped up a 10ga ash pan quick and got the majority of it welded off. Got the chute left. I might tackle that tomorrow?

Got a lot of my material ordered yesterday, I don't really think the prices were to bad that is what i'm paying here in Iowa . I plan on welding mine that way, one for the easy of painting mainly. I really don't foresee the door coming off unless in a earthquake

Yeah I thought of that after the runners were welded in, I'm going to revise the grate I think to more of a t handle design and to bend it down like you said.

Got the chute tacked up and the removeable fire grate in, now I need to order the insulation, frame tubing and sheet steel. Anyone use pickled and oiled sheeting my supplier sells it to me at the same cost as hot rolled plate.

Yeah I was going to run the valve on the fire box door, but have had heard stories of it blowing ash in the cook chamber, either way I'm thinking about running the valve and guru below it similar to karate doc did.

Well let the fun begin, starting the double pan tonight. Had about an hour to work on it after supper. (FYI) Before everyone says the holes on the wrong side I'm moving the inlet next to the firebox door with a 90deg elbow.

It pry wont matter, the CFM from the fan will keep the fire stoked, If in doubt go with the pit bull fan you can always choke it down if need be

look for a "Full Port Ball Valve" itll have a bigger opening. I just bought a 2" NPT Female 316 Stainless Steel Full Port Ball Valve off ebay for $18.00

your missing (plate B) on drawing CCA and CCP. This would solve that even with a tin foil pan under it
