Re: COOKING TIMES?

I guess what I had in mind was to determine length of cooking times for different meats. This would be a good reference for planning start (cook) times. I've been out of practice for about 10 years.

COOKING TIMES?

Thought this might be a good place to share your experiences with cook times. Please list your experiences with different types of meats such as how long do you cook them per pound and at what temp.

Re: New Build Questions

I'm not sure why but they painted the inside of the FB. Do I need to blast that out or just burn it out? Glad they didn't paint the inside of the CC. I will try to put the finishing touches on it soon and get more pics. Still need to get the tail lights on and safety chains. Had a Rick of Pecan deli...

Re: New Build Questions

I don't want it too loud and black and blue together is more suttle. I used a Satin Black on the smoker. I saw on here where someone used and liked it on here so I went with it. The only blue close to electric I found was some 500 degree metalcast that is mainly used for chrome. Don't know if it wil...

Re: New Build Questions

That would work but I would need more control with the spray. Might could spray in a cup and transfer to air brush.
Just checked on build. They were finishing up on a couple of details and should paint tomorrow. Pick up should be Friday.

Re: New Build Questions

Thought about painting/filling the flame outline on the rear of CC and above the FB. Worried that the heat would fade it quickly. Anybody use color paint and if so what type?

Re: Burning off reverse flow prior to use

I sandblast the inside of the tank. Then I rinse out the inside with water and dry with propane torch. Shortly thereafter I put vegetable oil in a sprayer and coat the inside of the CC. Build fire in firebox and get CC up to 350 for a couple of hours. Start cooking.

I've thought about painting the bead. Will give some more thought after I get it painted. Sandblast is scheduled for Monday evening.

I'm finally getting around to introducing myself. My name is Greg and I'm 52 from Oklahoma. In the early 2000's I help built or supervised the construction of a log cabin concession trailer. I tried making a go in the business for awhile but didn't have the funds to really stick it out. About the sa...
