Re: Reverse flow hybrid smoker: vertical smoking chamber question.

Thanks Guys! I decided to put a rough coat of paint on her to protect the metal during the wrath of hurricane Florence... It's rough, with a lot of overspray, but you can see my general color scheme. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180913/80f61362fb8527974ef1cd810a504ab0.jpg Sent from my SM-J727V...

Re: Reverse flow hybrid smoker: vertical smoking chamber question.

Got my rig back from the blaster. Primered half of it, then a shower came. Sprayed a phos acid rust preventative on the rest to finish primering and painting this weekend. Image

Re: Thawing Pork Butts

Ive never had a problem like this, so take my advice for what it's worth... but I'd find fresh thawed butts for the cook and put the others on the freezer for later. Butts are cheap and plentiful. Lots of nice butts at my local Sam's.

Nice rig brother. Good idea on the leaf springs. I replaced mine twice throughout my build because I kept adding accessories which added weight.

I passed one up offers for sale here in Georgia about a year ago. I'm still kicking myself for it. I imagine that you could make one cool smoker or grill out of that thing.

Wow! Did it split before the flair up, or from the intense heat of the flair up?

What welding process did you use and how thick is the plate, if you don't mind me asking.

The general consensus from this gang was that it was best to enlarge the Firebox. So I followed the advice and enlarged it to around 110%. ...
