Re: Changing stack

I wish someone would make a topic on building one of these covers for a trailer. Try as I might I cannot wrap my mind around how to pull it off.

Re: Santa Maria grill help

Thanks Big T. Frank gave me an awesome explanation via PM. But I’m the type that had to see it in action before I get it. This would be an awesome how-to video.

Re: What rod size can i use for 4mm metal

Diggerg has the best advice. 6013 is a sheet metal rod. Run it in 3/32, or 1/16 if you can find em. Skip weld. You’ll be fine. Good luck!

Re: Cold Saw usage

I have the Milwaukee metal saw. Short answer, yes, you can do plunge cuts with it, but it’s no fun. Sorta nerve racking. You have to manually compress the blade guard with one hand while controlling the saw with the other. Other than that, the saw is a beast. You’ll like it. Learn how to use it or y...

Check out Amazing Ribs website. There is a recipe that maximizes the natural drippings from the meat. It’s pretty tasty. And I’m with ya. I like a little sauce on just about anything.

Yup DT. Smoked to an IT of 145. Then fried for 10 minutes. I found the recipe online and RC mentioned it in another thread.

Yup. Looks good. I'd be tempted to fabricate a trailer for that rig by this point. Good job bro! Especially the door.

Re: New reverse flow build

Can you give more detail? Did you have temp swings or were you in and out of the house adding wood? On my stick burners I can expect to add wood every 45 mins to an hour. Temp tends to go up a few degrees after adding wood then gradually comes back down and settles in the sweet spot. Through frequen...

I've tried the Amazing Ribs recipe without the curing salt. Just brined them for 24 hours in 1 cup salt per gallon of water and whatever other spices you may like. They turned out great! Good luck.

Re: New build

Welcome! Looking good so far bro. Did you calculate your numbers/dimensions using the calculators? If so, you are in good shape. If not, better recheck em while you're still early into your build.

How is the balance on the rig with the wheel placement?

Re: Center feed tube build

Is the smoker door heavy? I recall you said it was heavy walled steel tubing. Also, where is the handle for opening the smoker door? I ask all this because it seems you will have to stretch to reach over the toolbox to open the smoker door. Also I'd really like to see the inside of the smoker, the f...
