Re: Diffuser plate...

I had to build a true "Ugly Drum smoker" this one is designed specifically for ribs hanging and 4 grates, I can probably do up to eight racks. I just seasoned it today https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170711/fa0268fd394f11616b6747499ac4c9d7.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170711/84d0bf9d351...

I'm using the 55 gallon lid that came with it, probably the same idea.

Re: Diffuser plate...

I did make some facebook videos. They are on this page..... https://www.facebook.com/SmokerBuilderMFG go there and check them all out. I set mine for 30% open. I have been using it for over a year now on my drum and typically cook between 250F and 300F. I have up to 28 hour burns during testing at ...

Diffuser plate...

Has anyone seen the new diffuser plate from uds parts? I recently got one, yet to use it, just curious to get some feedback, mainly on your settings 1/4,1/2 open? :help:

Re: First build question..

Welcome to the crew. I believe the "Mack" was all 1/4". And like the rest of us you might have to wait a bit for the plans and hopefully the .dxf files and bom. I do believe plans are "imminent" but I've been wrong before... :D :BDHorse: That would be great, my fab work would probably have to do a ...

Re: First build question..

:yth: I try to use 1/4'' minimum but I have seen quite a few guys use 3/16'' for the CC. I wouldn't want to use anything thinner than 3/16'' because it's hard to keep it from warping when you're cutting and welding on it. I kinda thought the same, not sure of the cost but I'm thinking 24"x48" CC, m...

First build question..

First post, long time reader..
Looking to finally try or attempt a rf offset, I have a good idea on the design. It's looking like I'm going to build a square cc and fb, my question is how thick should I use for the cc? I plan on 1/4 for the fb and insulated.

Thks, Eric
