Re: It's time.

I made my firebox grate adjustable, with servo motors to automatically adjust the spacing through a WiFi phone app .... Just kidding, I would have no clue on how to do that.

Lifting Smoker

Harbor Freight has a pretty good deal on 1 ton and 2 tons cranes, so thinking of going that route before I destroy my back. I ...

Interesting idea but you weld and fabricate....why not show off your skills? Why use a commercial tie down system just to put on a simple shelf? Seems like it is being over complicated when a simple piece of angle iron would provide a nice slot to put a removable shelf on. But with this system, I c...

Nice Shelf! I plan on including shelves, but want something removable for transport, so I'm designing a shelf system that can be attached using E-Track. Using this, I can also have detachable handles for transport, and even the tie-downs can be removable and swappable. Who makes E-Track? Many maker...

Re: Elmacho's Mini Build(s)!

I find the best method is to blow through every 2 inches, then spend hours filling holes, then go through 20 or so flap discs to grind everything smooth. Then i'm not satisfied until I've turned that flat sheet into a 3D relief map of Rocky Mountain National Park. I have mastered this method quite w...

Re: Hinges for the Door

I put mine 5 1/2" from edge to grease nipple. the door seals very well with no leaks. Also, be sure to orient your hinges so you can lift off your door if need be. This will also aid in painting it when that time comes.

You have pre-cut parts. I'd build the frame using the parts to make sure everything is square with those parts. Weld the CB later.

Re: Started a Double Pan GF

i added a recessed shelf in mine, just right of the front door. Not too big, but just big enough to hold my Heatermeter ATC and i plan on drilling and installing a through pipe to run my probe wires.
