yes I sanded the finish off on the inside, I dont think it's going to be a problem at least right now as it lays there and doesn't fall off. Fire Box Gasket

I used the fiberglass mesh gasket material and applied it with the RTV sealant and after a couple of smoke the gasket is coming loose, is it due to too much heat in the fire box or is there a better adhesive to use for this?

I have got it seasoned and just have the itch, thinking of doing it on Monday as I am off all day, love to do a brisket but the bank said no to mu=y loan request. Chicken sounds good also maybe some baked beans along with it.

Just got and installed my baffle plate on my highland, had trouble getting the end closest to the firebox in , the plate needed to be about a heavy 1/16th of inch narrower but i got it in but its tight. Had to kind of use a mallet to scoot it down into place at the firewall. so now you can't install...

Just completed assembly today and am waiting on my baffle to come Tuesday and then I will install and she will be done and ready to season. Thanks to all that have put up with my questions.
