Rotisserie smoker.

In the process of designing a large rotisserie smoker. It will be 5’ wide with 5 double shelves on the carousel. I have used the Calculator to spec. Everything thing out. My question is the customer plans on running lump charcoal. If only running lump charcoal should the firebox be smaller? If the f...

Re: Mini + 6”

I like the idea of the clear coat. But that’s a lot work to get the metal perfect. ( could be my only one). Love the idea of linseed oil, probably wait till my next build that’s not insulated. Paint is always a good possibility! Crazy question not sure the correct place to post. I have not built a r...

Re: Mini + 6”

If I ever get a chance to build mine I'm going to add a tube to run my probes through. I just think it's a cleaner look while cooking and you don't have to worry about damaging any of the probe wires. I did. I bored a hole through the interior cook chamber skin, and through the side of the pocket t...

Mini + 6”

Day 1 Mini gravity feed + 6”. Much time was spent stuffing sq tube with insulation. The frame is up side down in the pics. That cross member on top is in the wrong place and had to be moved. the same mistake was made when I built a dp gravity feed. 🤷‍♂️ at least I was consistent in miss reading plan...

Re: Legacy RF 48xl Build With Us! AKA virus corona

Day 12 Warmer latch: This should of been easy! But, did but didn’t plan out correctly. The plan was too use latch’s from the essential kit. These are super cool looking latches. The type of latches found on the Mack smoker. I fabricated warming racks and warming shelf early in the build, not too the...

Day 11. Putting shoes on smoker! Should of been easy! Haha! That means extra work. Caster and caster mounting brackets look good, holes match up! Crap can’t find the correct nut bolt combo in the shop. So what Found a couple sizes bigger. I think 1/4 to 7/16 no big deal, not running to the store for...

Cook chamber door finally matches cook chamber. Try to picture this! ( I will try to get a pic) The top edge of the cook chamber door and cook chamber. The top corners looking at it. Left corner 1/16 gap. Right corner a 1/32 gap. 6” out from left corner 1/8 gap. 6” out from right corner 1/16 gap. Th...

Re: Legacy RF 48xl Build With Us! AKA virus corona

I have never seen the cut/weld clamp method—definitely looks like a lot of work and is fairly destructive to nice clamp. Appreciate you sharing the new idea. I found this trick on another forum. I would only recommend this if others attempts fail. If fact I was ready to put square doors on. I had l...

Re: Legacy RF 48xl Build With Us! AKA virus corona

Just curious how you over compressed the door. Was it with the several funiture clamps that you showed in the picture? Just using the pipe clamps with a hammer! Just slow moved the clamps in. I need to compressed by 1/4 “. 1st pull moved the edge 18.25” to 17.75” which = 1/8” compression. 2 Pulled ...
