Thanks for all the advice. Gonna tweak the dimensions of the FB a bit and probably turn it into some grilling space also. I'm going with two four inch stacks in an effort to even out the flow of heat and smoke. Will post pics of the progress.

Twin stacks work fine as long as the two stacks together add up to the volume of the recommended size. Most of the guys that build twin stacks put a baffle on them so they can adjust the draft if the need to. Yeah, so that all adds up. Just seems like a huge firebox. Also, because the pit is so wide I was considering going with two stacks to keep from funneling all the heat to one point at the stack end. What's your thoughts on that idea?
