100# propane bottle smoker

Been looking at the plans for the smallish 100 pound propane bottle sized smoker. Anyone built one using the plans or something similar? Any pics? I would like a small backyard reverse flow that's not too expensive and/or complicated :D

Semi Finished UDS

Finally semi-finished my UDS. Still got a little work to do on the lid and a few more tweaks. Greased down the inside and let it run for a couple of hours at 300. After that I played around a little with temp control. Was able to get it to hold in the 220-230 range but found it a little hard to fine...

Re: Conduit nut question

Glad it was the drum instead of the house, car, truck, etc... I grabbed one of the cheapo kettles from Big Lots. The lid fit the first drum perfectly but not so good on the second. It's a little smaller. Guess I'll figure out something when I get to that point. Probably grind the lip down a little a...

I finally brought a closed head unlined one home from work that contained Isopropyl alcohol and cut the top off with a jigsaw. Tree limb fell on it and sorta crushed it so now I'm on the second one. Cut the ...

Conduit nut question

Got a quick question about the conduit nuts. They're slightly concave. I assume that the inward curve goes towards the drum wall on both side. Pic attached

Re: Greets from Mississippi

Thanks guys! Now if I can just find a suitable drum. It's slim pickins around here. So far everything I've found is either lined or previously filled with some sort of ag chemicals.

Greets from Mississippi

Been lurking for awhile... I've been mostly a griller and dabbled around some with a few homemade and cheapo store bought smokers. I've finally decided to take the plunge and try my hand at a UDS. Downloading the DVD now... can't wait ... it's a big 'um :o
