How about the seal of the doors to the fire box and cooking chamber is it important to have them air tight like with a rope real like an oven has ? If so what is the best way to attach a seal ? Would you put the seal on the door side or the other side ?

What about gaskets or seals on doors ? Important or not if so what are the best methods of making the gasket seal ? Do it on the door or the cooking chamber? Pros and cons any thoughts?

I heard a guy saying that lowering the smoke stack pipe into the cooking chamber a few inches works well and keeps hot air at the top of the cooking chamber hotter at the top and insulating the top of the cooking chamber.
