How about the seal of the doors to the fire box and cooking chamber is it important to have them air tight like with a rope real like an oven has ? If so what is the best way to attach a seal ? Would you put the seal on the door side or the other side ?

What about gaskets or seals on doors ? Important or not if so what are the best methods of making the gasket seal ? Do it on the door or the cooking chamber? Pros and cons any thoughts?

Gaskets or seals on fire doors and cooking chamberdoor. Dies this need to be sealed ? Any thoughts on fab detail as far as the best way to hold the seal in place ?

I heard a guy saying that lowering the smoke stack pipe into the cooking chamber a few inches works well and keeps hot air at the top of the cooking chamber hotter at the top and insulating the top of the cooking chamber. What do you think of this ? Its it all just a bunch of hot air ? (pun intended...
