To answer your question, I don't know. You don't necessarily need high temp paint except for around the firebox the rest of the cooker should stay cool enough for most any paint. Looks great... those racks came out looking good, but so labor intensive building them. Maybe no one will see that weld, but it's an important weld so don't feel bad. All of the welds look decent.... what is done in that shop when not building smokers? Lots of heavy duty equipment in there.

Guess you need a 4" ball valve instead of that little 2" guy..... but seriously 50# of chicken is a year's supply for me

Pit looks good and so do the ribs. I don't know if a larger basket will help you or not, but either way you will need to play with it to figure out what works

I agree with the removable grate. You can cut the grate from 20mm, but I think there is some advantage in having round bar for grate

Best advice i have is to call Frank and try to get an idea of what the thing is made of then call and price material. Steel prices change almost daily and vary a lot city to city.

You could cook a rack of ribs after you run out of charcoal

I like the idea of a large door. Makes it easier to load fuel and clean ashes. I don't see any reason not to have it full side.

This thread is worth digging up. The build and the builders are top notch.

I can't ever find a decent square, every one is either L shaped or triangular... so I just gotta estimate.
