Re: Archuleta family reunion smoker

That looks great. Did you use 1/4 plate. I would like to build something similar but was wondering if you could use 3/16. His might be a dumb question but could this be used as a pig roaster as well. Thanks

Reverse flow plate

Hi everyone. I have a question about the plate. I was thinking of making it removable for cleaning purposes also may install a charcoal grate under it or use the plate itself as the grate. Don you think I will have any issues doing this. Thanks in advance

Re: Hi everyone

Will be building a RF. Just not too sure if I want to go Octagon or square with the CC. Round pipe is a bit expensive here in Canada. I do have a CNC table so the cutting part should be easy

Re: Square CC vs Octagon

That looks great. I wasn’t thinking that big but more patio sized and without the warming box. Just wanted to be different than all the other round ones

Square CC vs Octagon

Good morning everyone I was planning on building an Octagon horizontal RF smoker approx 18x36. I have been thinking or changing to a Square CC. I have had a few people ask me to build them smokers and may build a few to sell. Is there anything wrong with using a square CC. Just not sure which way to...

Thanks everyone. I was just worried about mild steel because food will be on them. How is the best way to season the grates and smoker after complete. Thanks again

Grate Material

What material is everyone using for their cooking grates. I see a lot use 3/4 x 9 flattened expanded metal. Are you using steel or stainless. I have a couple of people that would like me to make them some new grates and also am building a smoker for myself. Thanks.
